Braving persistent rains, 144 golfers swung their clubs at the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) Charity Golf at Tanah Merah Country Club (Tampines Course) on 7 October 2022.
The first golf tournament for the Singapore Red Cross since the pandemic was organised by Golf for Humanity Organising Committee Chairperson, Mr Chew Hai Chwee; Tournament Director Mr William Toh; and members Dr Collin Ang, Mr Ho Kee Sin, and Mr Koh Yat Chung.
Mr Chew remarked in his welcome speech, "After a three-year hiatus, with the last golfing event in 2019, we are heartened to bring everyone together for humanity, on the greens!"
The collective efforts of golfers, donors, and sponsors raised $245,000 for the Singapore Red Cross' local humanitarian efforts. With Tote Board's funding, more than $345,000 was raised through the Charity Golf and Dinner.
Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Education and Manpower, graced the dinner as the Guest-of-Honour. She shared, "As we face new and emerging challenges, the mission and vision of the Red Cross will be even more critical... It is my hope that you will continue to be invested to keep Singapore strong and resilient, and that you will support the good work of the Singapore Red Cross."
Among the highlights of the evening were a charity live auction, a lucky draw and enthralling dance performances by SRC volunteers.
We thank the following individuals and partners for their contributions:
