2026 Wishes

1. M Shelley Mary D/O RS Sanasi, 67, ElderAid Beneficiary

Singapore Red Cross 2026 Wishes 1

M Shelley Mary D/O RS Sanasi’s wish is a simple one: to keep active. After 15 years as a cashier at Comfort Delgro, Mary initially found the transition to retired life difficult. With little to occupy her time, she felt her health beginning to decline.

Her outlook changed significantly when a programme coordinator from Elder Aid invited her to join their community activities. Today, Mary has a renewed sense of purpose and a busy social calendar, including a highly anticipated group trip to the River Wonders (formerly River Safari) in 2026.

For Mary, these outings are about more than just sightseeing; they are about connection. She values the opportunity to explore parts of Singapore she has never seen before, especially in the company of her peers. Sharing these experiences with fellow retirees allows her to build meaningful friendships, ensuring she stays mentally and physically revitalised.

Looking ahead to 2026, Aqilah is also keen to pursue work experience opportunities. Looking ahead to 2026, the Medical Chaperone & Transport Aid(MCT) Team shared a collective vision for a year defined by deeper connection and a kinder world.

Having witnessed the fragility of life in their line of work, they wished for a more peaceful world, one where conflict zones are silenced and the suffering of war is brought to an end through steady peace talks and stability. They also wished for a more sustainable society where less plastic is consumed and society takes a more active interest in environment protection.

Internally, their collective wish for the new year is for a renewed sense of fellowship. They hoped to see more meaningful inter-departmental bonding, desiring to bridge the gap between their busy roles on the road and the rest of the organisation. For the MCT Team, 2026 will be the year of getting to know one another properly, fostering a spirit of genuine camaraderie across the SRC.
