On 14 April 2023, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC), Yayasan MENDAKI and SG Cares Volunteer Centre @ Pasir Ris, operated by CARE Singapore, collaborated to bring more than 200 Muslim residents together for an Iftar meal, and to present them with care packs. SRC's beneficiaries from the ElderAid and Young Hearts programmes were also among the attendees.

Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC Mr Sharael Taha, who graced the event as its Guest-of-Honour, shared about the importance of the session as a community event, where volunteers come together to prepare and serve their neighbours.

Aimed at bringing the community together to foster neighbourliness, the Charity Buka Puasa outreach brought residents of different faiths together, to forge strong bonds and promote a greater sense of understanding this Ramadan season.
