Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Stellar Lifestyle, a managing agent of retail and advertising spaces in Singapore's rail network, and a subsidiary of SMRT Corporation Ltd, to renew its commitment to supporting community well-being across Singapore.
Held at the Singapore International Transport Congress & Exhibition (SITCE), Suntec on 6 November, the signing ceremony paves the way for the SRC to leverage Stellar Lifestyle's dynamic advertising platforms and roadshow spaces for media campaigns at various MRT stations. These will amplify public awareness and engagement with SRC's humanitarian work, broaden SRC's outreach, and inspire a collective commitment to serve humanity and save lives.
The Singapore Red Cross Academy (SRCA) will train SMRT employees in mental health, first aid, psychological aid, caregiving, and emergency preparedness to ensure a resilient workforce. This partnership will see SMRT employees actively supporting blood drives, and volunteer initiatives, furthering impact in the community in meaningful ways.
Over the past two decades, SMRT Corporation Ltd has been a steadfast supporter of the National Blood Programme. It has organised in-station blood drives and rallied employees and commuters to donate blood since the early 2000s. In commemoration of SMRT’s 30 years of operations, SMRT launched the 'Gift of Mobility' Fund in 2017, from which it sponsored a vehicle that kick-started our community health programme. Today, Tanjong Pagar Xchange houses one of eight training sites of the Singapore Red Cross Academy, where participants learn to save lives through first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
In September this year, the SRC presented the Singapore Red Cross’ 75th Anniversary Award 'Together for Humanity' to SMRT Corporation Ltd for its enduring partnership and meaningful collaborations.
SRC extends its heartfelt gratitude to SMRT Corporation Ltd and Stellar Experience Pte Ltd for their steadfast contributions to the SRC's causes over the past two decades. Through the MOU, SRC hopes to amplify its partnership with the two organisations going forward, paving the way to bolster community resilience through blood donation, first aid, and psychological first aid, and enhance the visibility of SRC's local humanitarian programmes, targeted at uplifting the lives of the vulnerable.
