Red Cross Memories: Florence Koh

My son, Peter, 42, was born mute and immobile. My husband and I have been taking care of Peter’s every need since he was born - from feeding, grooming, bathing and toileting.

When my husband was in his 70s and I was in my late 60s, we realised that we could no longer care for Peter on our own. We enrolled Peter in the Red Cross Home for the Disabled. Peter is provided with round-the-clock professional care as well as therapy sessions that enhance his physical, mobile and social skills. I am glad Peter could receive all to the care he needed at the Red Cross Home for the Disabled.

But more than that, my son’s stay at the home has transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined. This has given me more time to do my household chores and marketing. I am also able to visit Peter regularly.
