Executive (Recruitment & Profiling)
Membership & Volunteer Development

JOB PURPOSE

MVD’s Recruitment & Profiling function is responsible for the recruitment of volunteers where the planning and implementation of key profiling activities and initiatives aimed at mitigating recruitment gaps and programme development needs are executed. This includes preparing resource mapping reports that is established through postal-code zoning (aided by an Information Management System) for routine reporting and timely information sharing.

With the information gathered from the profiling and gap analysis, the Executive (Recruitment & Profiling) will also undertake and implement relevant activities, including targeted recruitment & partnership with corporate volunteering groups as interventions.

A large percentage of our volunteering profiles in the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) would be Youth (aged 9-35 years old). With a specific focus on 18-30 years old Youth who are mapped to their residing district/community, the Executive (Recruitment & Profiling) will also be working in close partnership with internal & external stakeholders including Youth Leaders of the Red Cross Youth to define and coordinate district-level volunteering activities. With an in-depth understanding of the volunteering needs of the 5 districts, the coordination and mobilisation of youth will contribute to the development of youth-led initiatives in the community.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the volunteers profiles in the Singapore Red Cross, in specific to community-based volunteers, youth in particular, who are not affiliated in a formal Red Cross Youth unit/chapter setting.
  • Manage, design & initiate mobilisation plan to meet current societal-wide events needs.
  • Actively manage the volunteer profiles and database in the Information Management System including data-matching, and to conduct system workflow test during system upgrades.
  • Actively manage the reporting function of the profiling results and communicate information in a succinct and timely manner to SRC programmes to support new/existing programme development needs.
  • Provide support for managing MVD’s key partners, including district stakeholders, Red Cross Youth, Corporate Volunteering Groups, and external vendors towards ensuring timely delivery and proper implementation of projects and initiatives.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:

  • Possess an undergraduate degree in business administration

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar or related role
  • Required experience, skills, and knowledge
  • Experience in volunteer management, customer relations, sales and/or prior experience in handling youth development/initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with different timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in the non-profit/charity sector
  • Business-level proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Familiarity with design software an added advantage.

 


Executive (Advocacy & Events)
Singapore Red Cross Academy

1 Advocacy

  • To develop an advocacy plan for all the courses under SRCA
  • To organise, conduct and promote all advocacy initiatives
  • To manage all events, conferences, talks & seminars under SRCA

2 Youth Development Programmes

  • To undertake the total operation and management of the Youth Humanitarian Leadership Camps (YHLC) and other youth development camps
  • To undertake the total operation and management of the Young/Junior First Aid and Red Cross Kidz programme
  • To assist in the promotion and marketing of the YHLC, JFA, YFA and RC Kidz
  • To assist in the development and growth of youth development programmes

3 Operations

  • To handle all administrative matters for the Diploma Plus and CET programmes with Singapore Polytechnic
  • To plan and prepare necessary quotations for corporate engagement programmes and events based on specifications
  • To facilitate all camps and corporate engagement programmes


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a recognised university degree 
  • Preferably possessing ACTA qualification
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience for graduates and 5 years for non-graduates in training related field or in academia. Applicant with curriculum development experience will have an added advantage.

Paramedic / Staff Nurse
TransportAid, Community Resilience Department

Singapore Red Cross is providing pre-hospital emergency care and rendering first aid as part of its TransportAid Emergency Ambulance service. This complements our present suite of services such as Community FirstAid, FoodAid, ElderAid, Blood Donor Recruitment Programme, Civil Emergency Response and International Disaster Relief.  
 
We are currently recruiting Paramedics and Staff Nurses, who will be based in HQ (Red Cross House, 15 Penang Lane).
 
Principal Accountabilities
 
Operations
 
  • Provide timely response and safe conveyance of TransportAid clients using Emergency Ambulances and other vehicles of the Singapore Red Cross
  • Assess patients, provide emergency treatment and make critical decisions when the need arises
  • Monitor and administer medication, pain relief and intravenous infusions as needed, according to the Society’s protocols
  • Administer appropriate first aid and life saving intervention as required and in accordance with the Society’s standard operating procedures
  • Competent in using specialist equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators and able to read information such as ECG
  • Provide first aid and medical treatment to casualties during Community First Aid assignments
  • Be part of the crew to provide Emergency Ambulance support during Civil Emergency activation
  • Maintain proper records of the patients and services provided
  • Provide hospital staff with critical information eg: condition and treatment
  • Keep stock of the inventory and other equipment and maintain them
  • Assist Ambulance Driver in the upkeep and maintenance of the vehicle

Qualifications
 
  • Recognised Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Nursing

Donor Manager (Senior Executive / Executive)
Blood Donor Recruitment Programme

JOB PURPOSE

The Donor Manager spearheads the Blood Donor Recruitment Programme and is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of key activities and initiatives aimed at building up the national donor pool.

Working in close partnership with key stakeholders from BSG and SRC, the Donor Manager will engage corporate, government, and community organisations to educate, recruit, retain, and recognise blood donors while organising blood-drives and group donations to build the national blood supply.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Development

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of their Bloodmobile Organiser (BMO) portfolios, including identifying past collection trends and collaboration histories
  • Conduct business and sector analysis of BMOs towards identifying challenges and opportunities to align blood donation with their strategic agendas
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and holistic business plan aimed at meeting assigned blood-collection targets while taking into consideration relevant environmental factors and trends
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to add value to existing and/or develop new partnerships and initiatives
  • Undertake client prospecting and engagement activities towards expanding the BMO partner base and building long-term relationships
  • Contribute to the visibility and enhance the public profile of the National Blood Programme through relevant initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the focal point for all donor, client and public enquiries relating to the National Blood Programme
  • Undertake relevant account-servicing activities in relation to BMO partners, including pre-engagement, post-engagement, and re-engagement activities
  • Proactively undertake education and engagement activities in schools, community organisations, corporate organisations, etc, towards building greater awareness of the National Blood Programme
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times to BMO partners, volunteers, SRC colleagues, BSG stakeholders, and, most importantly, blood donors in a variety of settings
  • Establish a strong rapport with BMO partners, volunteers, and blood donors, as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide regular and relevant updates to BDRP/SRC management and colleagues, BSG stakeholders, BMO partners, volunteers, and donors in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent BDRP and/or the Singapore Red Cross at public and external events as required

 Operations Management

  • Work in close partnership with BSG staff and BMO partners to plan and organise successful mobile blood-drives in the community and/or centre bookings
  • Proactively ensure a smooth operational flow during mobile blood-drives and at blood collection centres, including anticipating and identifying opportunities and challenges, resolving operational issues, enhancing the donor experience, and ensuring a high level of donor safety
  • Undertake relevant administrative tasks prior to and following each mobile blood-drive and/or centre booking as required
  • Lead, plan, and undertake ad hoc and regular event management activities as directed or in line with BDRP’s business objectives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce workflow, and enhance efficiency, including identifying volunteer deployment opportunities and needs

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:

  • Possess an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university

Experience:

  • One to three years of relevant experience in a business development, sales, marketing/communications, strategic planning, or project management role. However, candidates with relevant skillsets/experience or fresh graduates with an extensive history of relevant extra-curricular, voluntary and/or internship experience are also welcome to apply
  • Candidates with experience or demonstrated interest in the charity/CSR sector are especially welcome.

  • Train and show the ropes to newer Red Cross Ambassadors on the role
  • Attend product knowledge training, upskilling workshops when required

Responsibilities:

Nursing Care and Management

  • Provide and ensure that quality nursing care and service is rendered to the residents / clients at all times.
  • Assist the RN(s) in ensuring and providing safe nursing practice and a high standard of care.
  • Ensure the Nursing Aides and Healthcare Aides follow the safety precautions / practices in the prevention of falls, hazards and/or pressure sores.
  • Assist the RN in attending to emergencies as and when the need arises
  • Able to perform nursing procedures independently such as:
    • NG Tube Insertion
    • Simple Wound Dressings
    • Hygiene Practices such as isolation nursing, proper handwashing techniques and management of waste products
  • Maintaining proper documentation of vital signs and reporting to the RNon duty / in-charge when there is a change in the residents / clients condition.
  • Assist the RN in the serving of residents’ medications; monitor and supervise the Nursing Aides when feeding the medication to residents ­ ensuring zero (0) medication errors.
  • Together with the RN on duty / in­-charge, to participate and assist in the Volunteer Doctor’s rounds.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper and smooth delivery of care and service.
  • Accompanies the residents/clients for clinic/hospital appointments and / or transfers, when the need arises.
  • Respects and protects the rights and responsibilities of the residents / clients.

Professional Development

  • Mentor and supervise Nursing Aides and Healthcare Aides in their scope of work, clinical skills and especially in the maintenance of safe work practices and infection control standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and ensure quality service is rendered to the residents at all times
  • Work closely with the Social Worker in assessment of cases referred for admission and respite care, and the periodic review of cases for continual stay
  • Work in partnership with the Social Worker and other health professionals in developing and sustaining the needed programmes for the residents
  • Work in collaboration with the Nurse Educator/ Clinical Instructor with regards to training
  • Develop, evaluate and modify care plans for residents
  • Assess the physical, emotional and psychological well-being of residents through observation and analysis of physical health indicators to evaluate care plan and identify modifications which may be required
  • Conduct frequent rounds with staff to check on residents’ health and medical conditions
  • Accompany volunteer doctor on rounds, providing information on resident condition and progress, and
    assists with examinations, e.g. ADL, well-being, etc.

  • Observe residents/clients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on residents’/ clients’ responses and progress and report to physical therapist

Community Resilience - TransportAid

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the ambulance to transport clients to and from their appointments and back to their residence
  • Render first aid when needed to clients during transportation as per Standard Operating Procedure and guidelines
  • Load and unload clients to the trolley or wheelchair
  • Complete the pre and post ambulance checklist daily and or the responder daily medical checklist
  • Record the mileage utilized at each run and maintain the cleanliness and road worthiness of the ambulance
  • Ensure sufficient stock of medical supplies and their availability for us in the ambulance
  • As the assigned responder, check and test that medical equipment in the ambulance is operational and serviced when required
  • Attend to ambulance emergency hotline when required or assigned
  • Maintain proper records of the patients and service provided
  • As the assigned responder, attend to ambulance hotline when required or assigned
  • As the assigned responder, answer and or ensure calls are attended to promptly
  • Monitor and evaluate the services and activities of ambulance service through feedback and documentation on the feedback form

  • First aid and CPR certified (any other required certification as stipulated by MOH)
