Spreading the Word about Local Humanitarian Efforts

Singapore Red Cross' (SRC) employees and volunteers spread the word about SRC's local humanitarian programmes at the Singapore Buddhist Lodge and Shinnyo-en Singapore on Vesak Day, on 22 May. They also engaged individuals in volunteering and fundraising.

“Congratulations to the Singapore Red Cross on your 75th anniversary. Shinnyo-en Singapore is grateful to support your Grateful Hearts Day initiative during our Vesak Day celebrations. This initiative resonates with a core tenet of our teachings of extending loving compassion to others. We look forward to future collaborations with the Singapore Red Cross,” said the spokesperson of Shinnyo-en Singapore.

The spokesperson of the Singapore Buddhist Lodge shared the rationale underpinning its decision to provide the SRC with a platform to showcase its local humanitarian work.

“We practise and cultivate generosity, loving-kindness and compassion through the act of giving and sharing, in the hopes of removing the suffering of others. By supporting the Singapore Red Cross on Vesak Day, we translated compassion into action while spreading the word of its humanitarian efforts,” said the spokesperson of the Singapore Buddhist Lodge.

The SRC is appreciative to the organisations, and partners for their partnership for humanity, and for providing the SRC with the platform to rally support for our humanitarian causes.
