144 golfers gathered at Laguna National Golf Resort Club and teed off for humanity at this year’s Singapore Red Cross (SRC) Charity Golf and Dinner. Held on 4 April 2025, 'Swing for Red' was a success, with all 36 flights taken up and all the dinner tables filled. The event raised a total of over $465,000 for SRC's local humanitarian services.
Senior Minister of State Dr Koh Poh Koon graced the Charity Golf and Dinner as the Guest of Honour and delivered a speech to the golfers, diners and supporters at the event.
"Looking ahead, the world will continue to face many challenges to say the least, and the humanitarian needs will intensify. On top of human conflicts, increasing mental stresses and societal tensions, we will have to unfortunately deal with more frequent natural disasters arising from adverse weather patterns due to climate change. All parts of society have to work together to overcome these challenges. I am glad that SRC has made it its mission to bring people and organisations together to help us meet these challenges and to promote deeper understanding and compassion of our humanity, whether locally or globally,” said SMS Dr Koh.
Organising Chairperson Ms Emily Tan took the opportunity to express her appreciation for the strong support of the golfers, diners, donors, sponsors, performers, volunteers, committee members and staff at this year's Charity Golf & Dinner.
"Your contributions will enable us to keep making an impact in Singapore. From home monitoring for the elderly to support for underprivileged families, and psychosocial support for migrant workers - none of these would be possible without your generosity and goodwill," said Ms Tan.
It was a night to remember with a delicious feast at Dusit Thani’s Laguna Ballroom, magician Tommy Kian wowing the crowd, and musical duo Kopi & Kaya keeping spirits high with a set of catchy pop tunes. The live and online auction successfully raised $8,500 for a pair of Gulf Air Business class tickets and the raffle draw brought smiles to all 76 winners. A big thank you to the winners of our silent auction — Dr Ganesh Ramalingam, Mr Terence Oh and Mr Liu GuangTao.
The SRC would also like to thank Guest-of-Honour Senior Minister of State Dr Koh Poh Koon for his support of SRC's humanitarian causes and for setting aside time to grace the event. We would like to pay tribute to Chairperson Ms Emily Tan and organising committee members Ms Yen Chong, Ms Lorraine Gan and Ms Kasia Kupiec. Last but certainly not least, this event would not have been possible without our event organiser Cerebral; the generosity, tireless contributions and good cheer of the donors, sponsors, and golfers, as well as the Singapore Red Cross’ team - staff and volunteers, for their hard work and good cheer in bringing this event to fruition. Once again, heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the event!
Building on the tremendous success of this year’s 'Swing for Red' fundraising event, the 2026 Singapore Red Cross Charity Golf and Dinner promises another memorable day of philanthropy, fellowship, and fun. We invite you to mark your calendars, prepare your golf clubs, and join us next year as we continue to make a difference in our community - one swing at a time. We look forward to seeing you there!
