Partnership to strengthen mental health training for volunteers and healthcare communities

On 27 July 2022, the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) signed an MOU for a training collaboration in Mental Wellness and Resilience.

NUS Mind Science Centre will work closely with Singapore Red Cross Academy on the development, provision, and delivery of Emotional Literacy First Aid (ELFA). The partnership is championed by Singapore Red Cross Academy's Centre for Psychosocial Support (CPSS). Since its establishment in 2021, CPSS advocates the Red Cross mission and equips the masses with mental health knowledge and psychosocial support skills through training, with the aim of promoting mental wellness in communities locally and beyond.

The Dean of Singapore Red Cross Academy, Mr. Sahari Ani said, "Our partnership with the Mind Science Centre (MSC) will strengthen our depth and width in offering training in Mental Health. It is another milestone for the Centre Psychosocial Centre towards our endeavour to be a leading training provider for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), both in Singapore and beyond."
