Disasters and conflicts can leave a severe psychosocial impact on individuals and communities. Early psychosocial support is important to help affected persons cope with tragedies.
Singapore Red Cross Academy provides training to help heal psychological wounds and rebuild social structures in affected individuals and communities after emergencies. Graduates of Psychosocial Support courses will be fully adept at planning activities that can reduce psychosocial vulnerabilities, and ultimately enhance community resilience.
Psychological First Aid provides the learners with basic knowledge and skills in helping individuals affected by crises in life. The course covers signs of stress and different coping skills; and teaches the participants how to recognise signs of suicide thoughts. Getting trained in psychological first aid enables an individual to provide an emotional lift for someone in distress.
PFA is for anyone who wants to provide support to persons who are in distress due to crisis situations or stressful everyday situations, whether at home or work.

Advanced Psychological First Aid (APFA) is an enhanced and specialized approach to providing immediate support and assistance to individuals who have experienced significant emotional distress and complex reactions. Participants will learn about Loss and Grief and learn how to apply the principles of PFA to support someone experiencing such reactions.
There will be an assessment at the end of the 2 day course. Completion of Psychological First Aid is a prerequisite.

In partnership with the Samaritans of Singapore (SOS), the Psychological First Aid + Be a Samaritan Programme (PFA + BAS) course equips learners with the basic knowledge and skills to help individuals affected by crises in life as well as suicide prevention skills.
PFA+ BAS is for anyone who wants to provide support to persons who are in distress due to crisis situations or stressful everyday situations, whether at home or work.

The Mental Health @ Workplace is a training program that enables learners to understand the importance of mental health in the workplace, identify challenges that impact employees’ well-being and apply strategies to promote employee engagement, organizational resilience and productivity while fostering a supportive work environment.
