In times of crises and disasters, emotional wounds are often overlooked. It is less visible than material losses but it often takes far longer to recover. Therefore, besides physical humanitarian aid, it is imperative to provide psychosocial support. Early psychosocial intervention helps recovery, strengthens community resilience and transforms the affected community into active survivors instead of passive victims.

Learn about the roles and responsibilities of a psychosocial support provider, how to recognise the signs of stress and provide much-needed comfort to others in times of distress.

  • I learnt so much today that my brain hurts (in a good way). I believe that this is a useful first step for me if I were to start a career in the counselling/HR field.

  • I liked how they linked the applicability of PFA alongside standard first aid. It really shows the extent of how far we can go to help those in need. The instructors were light-hearted throughout the course and got serious on certain topics to create greater emphasis. Overall, it was a great learning in a conducive environment. Kudos to the trainers!

  • The course leaders are very knowledgeable on the subject (PFA) and were very professional. They were also very pleasant throughout the course. Thank you very much!

  • It was nice to have everyone participating actively. The activities helped a lot and I felt that there was a good balance of theoretical and hands-on activities.

  • The course was really packed with beautiful content.

  • It was an enriching session and even though it must have been tough, the course was made better when the trainer shared her own experiences with us.
